Bikers will rumble into town starting Thursday for the Lone Star Motorcycle Rally, Nov. 1-4. Two entertainment districts are planned, one downtown and one on the Seawall, with bands, vendor booths, and activities. If you’ve experienced one before, you know there will be special traffic routes in place and that street closures will interrupt Island Transit’s trolley service beginning Wednesday, Oct. 31. Now, you probably would not be surprised to know a lot of people at UTMB get pretty excited about and involved in this event. We’re a fun-loving bunch. You might be surprised to learn, however, that one of the newer groups participating in the event is our transplant team, which is making big news this week in other ways.
