I’ve been a fan of credit unions for most of my life, ever since I started dropping my hard-earned lawn mowing and worm picking money in an account started for me by my parents. Naturally, with history like that, I opened an account at our local University Federal CU when I moved to Texas, and that’s why their current newsletter showed up at my house a few weeks ago.
Imagine my surprise when, on page 10 of the Fall 2007 issue of Currency Affairs, I saw an article about UTMB’s Medical Discovery News. Those crusaders of the airwaves, faculty members Norbert Herzog and David Niesel, had struck another blow in the battle for biomedical science. Medical Discovery News is a weekly radio program that provides insights into a broad range of biomedical science topics. It’s a great project that’s picking up some serious momentum, with more major markets tapping into their talents every few weeks. You don’t have to wait to be near a radio, though, to hear these fine fellows. You can visit the Medical Discovery News web site to read transcripts or hear the audio files.
