Riding the trolley? Good feedback and advice

I’ve been writing a bit about the new holiday express trolley service. The city’s offering enhanced trolley service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. through the holidays to see if we can get more ridership. One criticism has been that the trolley is geared more toward tourism than mass transit, and this experiment may help show that with the right schedule and regular, reliable service, it may do both. If it works, it’ll be good for us on campus and for downtown restaurants and shops owners, who are sweetening the deal with discounts, perks and incentives. Here’s some early feedback from one of our UTMB colleagues:

I have utilized the trolley system twice last week for a “downtown” lunch and shopping break. Both times I made it back within my hour. I would advise others to go between the 11:00 and 12:45 return time.. cause it STOPS making the quick returns at 1:00 on the nose. I just wanted to put this out there in case others were wondering. It sure makes a good break to working through lunch at your desk staring at the same computer screen. Just thought I’d let you know.. it works. Thanks, Jan
