As some say in the great state of Louisiana, I “passed a good time” Saturday night at Seawolf Park, where the folks at our Texas Transplant Center hosted a crawfish boil as a way to say thanks to their team and supporters. I’m not sure I was personally deserving of much thanks, but the invite came, and many of the people at the center I know by email and name alone, so this was a chance to put faces with names. The first person I saw was the chief crawfish cooker and event instigator, Perry Pierson, one of my previously faceless names. He made me feel welcome right off the bat.
The breeze was blowing, a band (with at least one UTMB doc) was belting out good crawfish eatin’ music, the sun was headed down, and the beverages were cold. Throw in good people having a good time, and it’s an all-around winning combination.
I was the recipient of some good-natured ribbing, however, for letting my blog lay dormant for almost two weeks. So, for the Li family, this post is for you. wink. More news in an upcoming post about what I’ve been up to and why the blog’s been on a back burner.
