Big protein portions don’t mean more muscle

UTMB’s Douglas Paddon-Jones was interviewed about a study that he and colleagues conducted that found only the first 30 grams of protein in a meal, the amount in four ounces of lean beef, chicken, soy or dairy, is turned into muscle. “There’s so much of this ‘more-is-better’ mentality in this country,” Paddon-Jones said. “But the message of our research is one of moderation.”
