To find out what version of the MacOS your Mac is running, mouse up to the Apple menu, in the left-hand corner of your monitor. Selecting ‘About This Mac’ will bring up a small window displaying the OS version,  processor and memory specs, and the name of the startup disc.

Clicking ‘More Info…” will open a much more detailed application, with granular details about every aspect of your Mac’s  hardware and software.
