UTMB Specialty Care Center at Victory Lakes

On March 29th we will hold our first “Reconstruction of a Survivor” Breast Cancer Support Group at Victory Lakes Specialty Care at 6:00pm–7:30pm. A light meal and beverage will be supplied. Going forward we will meet the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:00pm–7:30pm in room 2.110C at Victory Lakes Specialty Care. The Bay Area Alliance for Youth and Families will be having another Medication Take Back on Saturday April 28 at UTMB’s Specialty Care Center at Victory Lakes Center in League City. All unwanted or expired medications can be dropped off at the event. This is part of a national effort by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The National Take-Back Day provides an opportunity for the public to surrender expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications for destruction. These drugs are a potential source of supply for illegal use and an unacceptable risk to public health and safety.

This one-day effort is intended to bring national focus to the issue of increasing pharmaceutical controlled substance abuse.

• The program is anonymous.
• Prescription and over the counter solid dosage medications, i.e. tablets and capsules accepted.
• Intra-venous solutions, injectables, and needles will not be accepted.
• Illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamine are not a part of this initiative.
