Victory Lakes Road Closure

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

Due to the construction of the Park and Ride, the entrance road connecting I-45 Feeder Road and West Walker will be blocked in the center effective Monday July 11, 2011-October 10, 2011.

This means that all patients will only have access to Victory Lakes from the I-45 Feeder Road beginning Monday, July 11 thru Monday, October 10. All employees will have to enter from West Walker in order to have access to the physician and employee parking lot.

While the Park & Ride facility at Victory Lakes will serve UTMB employees and patients, it will be open to everyone on the Island and mainland.

If you have any question regarding directions to our facility please call 832-505-1000.

UTMB’s Yngve Honored as Health Care Hero

Wednesday, June 1st, 2011

During the 2011 Houston Business Journal Health Care Heroes luncheon awards event, Twelve Health Care Heroes awards were handed out in multiple categories. The Health Care Heroes awards honor those who serve, innovate and save lives. Dr. David A. Yngve from the Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation Clinic at Victory Lakes received an award for the Best Doctor.

Watch a video that spotlights a patient of Dr. Yngve’s and the successful outcome of the surgery he performed.

Dr. Yngve, who came to UTMB in 1992, has been in practice for more than 20 years and says his goal is to treat his patients in a careful, caring and understanding manner.  This includes remaining up-to-date in his field, which has resulted in his publication of more than 25 peer reviewed papers. Dr. Yngve has a special interest in cerebral palsy, scoliosis and pediatric spine problems.

Congratulations Dr. Yngve! UTMB Health Specialty Care Center at Victory Lakes is proud to have you as member of our family.

Congratulations is also in order for Dr. Anderson, executive vice president and provost and dean of medicine, who was honored with the Lifetime Achievement award and Nellie Loewen, a nursing program coordinator in UTMB’s Emergency Department, who was one of two finalists for the Nurse award.
