Jenny and Kelley

Jenny and Kelley

Kudos to Jenny Desjardin and Kelley Stewart for the time they spent promoting UTMB’s Victory Lakes Specialty Care Center at the 2010 Women’s Council of Realtors State Convention in Galveston.  Also, special thanks to Cruz Cortez of Cruz Clothier for allowing UTMB to set up for the event in front of his Mechanic Street fashion house.

Clothes and Good Health…two staples for all women.

Victory Lakes as a site for drug Take-Back Day

Friday, September 17th, 2010

Remember that Vicodin you never used when you got your wisdom teeth pulled? Or the codeine that came home from the hospital with you? It’s time to get them out of your medicine cabinet.

The Drug Enforcement Administration along with the Bay Area Council for Youth and Families and UTMB will host a drug take-back day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25 at UTMB Victory Lakes Specialty Care Center, 2400 Gulf Freeway South.

It’s part of a National Take-Back Day, an opportunity for the public to anonymously surrender expired, unwanted or unused controlled substances and other medications for destruction. The idea is to keep them out of the hands of children and those looking for an illegal fix.

Tablets and capsules will be accepted, but not IV solutions, injectables and needles, and no “illicit substances” such as marijuana or methamphetamine.

Top one-percent nationally in patient satisfaction

Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

PGartThis past July, not long after opening, the Specialty Care Center at Victory Lakes and its associated clinics started using a Press Ganey tool to evaluate patient satisfaction. We’re very pleased to share that we’ve achieved a 96.7 mean score, ranking us in the 99th percentile—the top 1 percent—compared to other facilities nationally. We’re proud and have worked hard to earn this outstanding accomplishment. It sets a benchmark for quality, and underscores our focus on meeting and exceeding all your needs. When you need care, we look forward to offering you best-in-nation service.
