Victory Lakes site for drug Take-Back Day—April 30th

Monday, April 18th, 2011

The Drug Enforcement Administration along with the Bay Area Council for Youth and Families and UTMB will host our second drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 30th from 10am-2pm. It’s part of a National Drug Take-Back Day, an opportunity for the public to anonymously surrender medications for destruction. The idea is to keep them out of the hands  of children and those looking for an illegal fix.

Our first drug take-back day event was a success and we were able to collect 466lbs of medication at the Victory Lakes location with 157 vehicles showing up to prevent increased drug abuse and theft. The drop off was anonymous with no questions asked.

Please help us make this event a success by dropping off your expired, unwanted or unused controlled substances and other medications to be disposed. Tablets and capsules will be accepted, but not IV solutions, injectables and needles, and no “illicit substances” such as marijuana or methamphetamine.
