New EAC representatives announced

It is a pleasure for the current members of the UTMB Employee Advisory Council to annouce and welcome the newly elected representatives:

  • Pam Bass, representing the Schools
  • Gerald Cleveland, representing University Support
  • Tammy Cupit, representing Hospitals and Clinics
  • Diana Davison, representing University Support
  • Michele Lockwood, representing University Support (replacement for an original member)

These individuals will serve a three-year term, from 2008 through the end of 2010. 

The EAC would like to thank and commend all the candidates who took of their time and generously offered their services in support of their colleagues at UTMB.  We also would like to thanks those who participated in the election and those who worked behind the scences to make the online election possible.  

The new council will meet with President Callender on Feb. 22 and looks forward to getting to work.

EAC elections open Weds., Jan. 23

Vote nowClassified and Administrative & Professional employees are invited to cast their votes for new members of the Employee Advisory Council. The election, which begins Jan. 23 and runs through Feb. 8, 2008, will determine three new representatives, one from the Schools, one from the Hospitals and Clinics and one from University Support areas. (EAC leadership has sought an appointee for a fourth person, to represent Community Health Services, as no names came forward during the nomination period.)

Voting is open to full-time, benefits-eligible Classified and A&P employees. Voting will be offered online, with employees allowed one vote for a nominee from their university group. Although users will be authenticated using their UTMB username and password, an individual’s voting choice will remain confidential. The new members will be announced on Feb. 9, 2008.

Elections slated to begin Jan. 23

Nominations were closed in December. We are working to launch the elections January 23; elections will run through February 8. Winners will be announced on Feb. 9, 2008.Thank you for your interest in and support of the UTMB EAC.
